CHINON MULTI-COATED 55MM F/1.7 REVIEW + TEST

CHINON MULTI-COATED 55MM F/1.7 REVIEW + TEST

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBKrT3iIxJc Auto Chinon 55mm F1.7 is an interesting lens. There appear to be so many versions of this lens. The one I’ve tested is a Multi-Coasted version with greenish coasting tint which actually looks very nice and for that reason I’ve now had it as a backdrop along with Zeiss 135mm F3.5 on my tweeter account for a long time now. It’s also very well built lens, fully metal body, very smooth long throw focusing ri… Continue Reading

HELIOS 135mm F/2.8 TEST VIDEO

Helios 135mm Test Video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4zpR8W2Vws&feature=youtu.be Here is a short test video I’ve shot with my favorite 135mm prime, the Helios 135mm f/2.8. The video above was shot on my little Sony NEX 5N with a simple neck brace for support, so the footage is not the most stable (sorry). Nevertheless, I think it’s easy to agree that this lens produces very cinematic results. Due to it’s longer focal length and fast aperture of f/2.8 achieving the sh… Continue Reading

Battle of Tokina 80-200 Zooms | F2.8 vs F4

Battle of Tokina 80-200 Zooms | F2.8 vs F4

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTkLDhx36m4&feature=youtu.be I wanted to do this shootout long time ago: 2 Tokina lenses, same focal lengths, but completely different in every other way, including the price. The Tokina AT-X 80-200mm f/2.8 is already mega cheap for what it gives you, but the Tokina 80-200mm RMC f/4 is basically one of the cheapest lenses one could get. If you are lucky you could even snap one up for under $20, which is absolutely c… Continue Reading

Yashica Yashinon DS 50mm f/1.4 Lens TEST FOOTAGE

Yashica Yashinon DS 50mm f/1.4 Lens TEST FOOTAGE

…lens, I picked it up for £75 on eBay which is uber cheap! I use it with a Canon 550d/t2i. The focus ring is massive and really nice to use. Perfect for focus pulls! The aperture ring is a little close to the camera at the back of the lens, but you soon get used to it. It nicely clicks into each different f/stop, which is great, but not totally ideal for video if you want to change aperture while recording, the change is too blunt. The image is qu… Continue Reading
