Angenieux 17-68mm F2.2 for BMPCC & D16 | REVIEW

…Wide Angle attachment which sound like a great idea, but unfortunately vignettes heavily at the wide end. The only camera that could utilize this attachment is Digital Bolex and that’s only on HD mode which uses a smaller sensor area. If planning to use this lens with a pocket cam, don’t waist extra money on this pretty but otherwise useless attachment. Hope you found this review useful. Using Angenieux 12-240mm F3.5 on BMPCC/S16 | In-Depth Review

Using Angenieux 12-240mm F3.5 on BMPCC/S16 | In-Depth Review

…is of course some vignetting, but good news is that the most noticeable vignetting is found between 15mm and 50mm focal range, with the lens set the closest focusing distance. Even at 2.5m focusing distance, vignetting is very manageable throughout the zoom range and if you focus towards the infinity, you could almost mistake this lens for a Super16 zoom as vignetting becomes very mild even at the most difficult focal lengths. Most importantly tho… Continue Reading

INDUSTAR 50-2 50mm F3.5 Pancake Lens Review

Industar 50mm F3.5 Review

…vignetting on APS-C/Super35 is almost unnoticeable. There is no proper vignetting on full frame either, but you notice the light fall-off around the corners much more. I generally like lenses with character and Industar 50-2 certainly has a character, which is the most evident in the bokeh this lens produces. It’s a bit swirly and a bit fussy, but it’s nice and adds that vintage look to your images. Overall I like this lens, but don’t get me wron… Continue Reading

Using "Krasnogorsk" Lenses on BMPCC | In-depth Review

…blematic with the sensor coverage and it’s also the case with this set. Vignetting is visible at all F-stops but focusing range doesn’t affect it much. Optically this lens is probably the softest out of three. It’s a bit dreamy wide open with blooming highlights, but optical performance is significantly improved by F2.8 and by F4 it’s pretty much perfect. It’s worth noting that there is also a MIR-11M version, which appears to be sharper, but unfo… Continue Reading

KOWA Vidoscope REVIEW | Affordable 2x Anamorphic Lens

…are quite limited in terms of taking lens choices. Wider taking lenses vignette heavily, so aching wide angle shots with this lens can very tricky. 5: Close focusing distance. Most anamorphic projection lenses have a poor closest focusing distance, in case of Kowa Vidoscope it’s 5ft/1.5m, which isn’t terrible, but you will have a hard time getting any close ups. Single focus adapters again help with this problem and it’s also possible to use vari… Continue Reading
